Kumon Math and Reading Center

I thought my son was gifted (GT Track) and thus unable to accept standardized teaching! I just thought the school teachers didn't know how to handle my kid. Just for the lark, I went to Irving Kumon on an exploration trip and what a transformation did I see!!

If you want your kids to get that extra edge, remember, it is not by teaching ahead or teaching something "new" or 'different', it is by repeating and mastering what they've already learnt, that the knowledge gets crytallized in their head. Don't be mislead by anyone who says otherwise - talk to Ms Singh and have faith in her remarkable ability to make your child turn around. She will tell you that the kids need tools to work things in their heads (before the calculator lays them to waste)! The reward for the kid lies not only in doing something, but in the child's ability to get a full handle on the concepts and have pride in 'knowing' it through and through. I can never forget the happiness on my sons face, when his anxiety to do stuff in his class was replaced by confidence.
