Girlfriends Arican hair braiding and weaving in irving, texas

I went to Girlfriends in September of 2010 to get my hair braided for a trip to miami. It looked great but they charged extra because I requested that they braid past my own hair to avoid breakage. Then after paying over $200, my braids began to slip out while in miami less than a week later. They agreed to fix the area that the braids were slipping out and even set an appointment for me...however they would not see me because they said that it was my fault and had other clients.

My hair hasn't even been up for a week... And every time I put my hands in my hair BRAIDS ARE FALLING OUT... AND JUST IN-CASE YOU ARE WONDERING MY HAIR COMES TO MY SHOULDER... SO THERE IS NO REASON WHY THEY SHOULD BE FALLING OUT... AND WHEN I CONTACTED THEM... THEY ASK ME HAVE I WASHED MY HAIR? BECAUSE IF YOU WASH YOUR HAIR WITH BRAIDS THEY'LL COME OUT AND THEY DON'T COVER THAT... ARE YOU KIDDING ME... I HAVE HAD BRAIDS MANY MANY TIMES AND WHEN YOUR BRAIDS ARE DONE RIGHT IT DOESN'T MATTER IF YOU'VE WASHED THEM OR NOT... AND TO ANSWER HER QUESTION NO I HAVE NOT WASHED MY BRAIDS... THEY HAVEN'T BEEN UP YET FOR A WEEK... I GOT THESE BRAIDS SO I WOULDN'T HALF TO DEAL WITH MY HAIR ON VACATION... NOW I CAN'T EVEN PUT MY HAIR UP IN A PONEYTAIL BECAUSE SO MAN BRAIDS ARE MISSING... AND ANOTHER THING YOU HALF TO TELL THEM TO BRAID YOUR REAL HAIR ALL THE WAY TO END AND THEY'LL CHARGE YOU EXTRA OR THEY WILL LEAVE IT OUT... I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS... IT TOOK ME 1 HOUR TO GET TO IRVING AND I HAD TO MAKE SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT TO GET MY HAIR DONE... NOW THE PERSON I TALK TOO DIDN'T SAY I'M SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVIENCE WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS MATTER FOR YOU... NO ALL I GOT WAS THEY WILL HALF TO EXAMINE MY HEAD FIRST... BEFORE THEY'LL FIX MY HAIR... FOR THEIR OWN BAD JOB...



STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE... I THOUGHT I HAD FOUND A PLACE TO GET MY HAIR DONE... BUT I WAS WRONG... I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED....

Ok, I've been to Girlfriends once before, it was for a quick weave though. Only two workers in the shop, one only sat and ate the whole time, while they spoke a foreign language. The lady doing my hair, didn't do the style I asked for, and I was mad. I was turning 21 that weekend and I wanted a particular style. I'm so glad y'all are posting about their micros, cuz I was gonna let them do mine. OOops not anymore.. Where's a better shop in Irving for Micros?

OH WOW........!!! I REALLY wish that I would have read these reviews before I spent the money. My braids have been falling out since the 1st week, and I thought that it was my fault. The Saturday after I had my hair braided; my husband and I were getting ready to entertain a house full of guest and I went to put the braids in a pony tail and they just started falling out. I went back to girlfriends the following Monday, and they re-braided my hair, and they very next day I was in the restroom at work, and one of my co-workers commented on how pretty my hair was and another braid fell out. I was so embarrassed!!!!! I washed my hair today and there are now about 20 braids sitting on my bathroom counter.



I usually praise people for their work, and I'm NOT a fan of positing negative feedback, but I paid for a hairstyle that is typically supposed to last 3 months and this is only the third week. My husband and I were trying to decide if we should pay them AGAIN to "touch-up" my braids (when it's not my fault that they have been falling out) or if we are going to take these things down and count it as a loss. I've been walking around the office so paranoid that braids are going to fall out in front of everybody...... HOW EMBARASSING



Such a waste of money, and YES the staff was VERY rude. Thankfully, my BFF knows how to braid, and she will replace all of my fallen braids this weekend



I did stop by Glamorous braids this afternoon, and the staff is very nice. After the rest of my braids fall out, I will give my business to them. The staff is very friendly and they sell the hair at a significantly lower price then the beauty supply stores

THEY DO GREAT BRAIDS BUT WHEN IT COMES TO TAKING THEM DOWN THEY HAVE CUT MY REAL HAIR TWICE I WARNED THEM THE SECOND TIME NOT TO CUT IT AND TO BE CAREFUL AND THEY STILL CUT IT. MY BEAUTICIAN WAS LIVID. THEY SAY THE BRAIDS CAN BRING IT OUT IF YOU LEAVE THEM UP TOO LONG BUT MY BEAUTICIAN SAYS IT WILL THIN IT NOT MAKE IT SHORTER....SO PLEASE PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU GET THEM TAKEN DOW. ALSO, THEY SPEAK THEIR LANGUAGE ALL THE TIME SO YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE SAYING AND IT'S VERY RUDE.

I paid for my girl to her hair done their. BIG WASTE OF MONEY. She got it done about two weeks ago and now needs it redone, they are falling out, IN THE FRONT. She is a classy lady and can not go go around missing braids. I'm paying, AGAIN, for her to get her hair braided, and I'm picking her up from the other shop...a day just wasted!!



Save your money.

LADIES....listen up...I also went to Girlfriends and have lost braids. They do make you pay first, so if your hair is not as you wanted, you're just out of luck. I wish I had read the comments first, but I do have a question. How did Mike know who posted the comment, seriously, a screen name is all that is posted...how would he know who she was, especially out of 25,000 customers. That is very interesting, she must have been telling the truth.



I was very uncomfortable, my hair broke off in spots and it seemed the manager had to MAKE the other braiders help with my hair. They were speaking french and laughing as they were braiding, I was very uncomfortable, especially since I am sensitive about how my hair looks after it broke off anyway. If you don't mind them speaking french and laughing, especially when a customer gets up to go to the restroom in the back(not very professional). My advice, go to Glamour Braids, I went there when I got them redone and my micros look great!! I have not lost any and it is styled the way I wanted and they have a comfortable environment.



As for Girlfriends, don't lie on previous customers, just post a positive comment about yourself and hope it boost your ratings, but lying...that is just SAD!!



And Mike...interesting...very interesting...your story really doesnt even make sense...how can you 'damage' your own micro braid, and usually in 24 hours your hair still looks fresh and good..mine did for about a week and a half, so I never contacted Girflfriends back, due to their policy....



Again, GLAMOUR BRAIDS is up the street and do a great job!!! Choose wisely.

I have had my hair done a several saloons in Dallas, Irving, Arlington and Ft-Worth. This is the only Saloon that can do my hair the way I like it. They have great braiders and stylists. The price is good and the saloon is very clean and maculate. I definitely remmand it no matter what others are saying.

I got my hairbraided less than a month ago and I have lost a LOT of braids. I have the microbraids and I have to take them out now because it looks bad. They did not style them the way I requested, but they make you pay first. I say take your money and go a little further up the road to another shop. I will this weekend!!
