Best Western-Hershey

our family's second trip to Hershey , both times at the Best Western. We brought our dog as this is a "pet friendly" hotel.There was no provision for asking about or telling about bringing a pet. Upon checking in--being fair, i mentioned our dog and the desk added on a $25 per day pet cleaning charge (which i thought was fair), and they changed us to a "pet friendly" room. THIS room was underneath and in the back of the hotel----smaller , dark , dirty carpets with stains , furniture with bent legs , matresses like soft marshmallows , smelling of old cigarrettes even though it was a non smoking room. Also , there was an employee work roombehind our room , from which loud music could be heard all day long through our wall (good thing we were out) The continental breakfast was VERY insubstantial and left me wanting both days of our stay. No newspapers were available in the hotel even though the free internet access was very good-- i kept connected on my son's laptop. We spent the day at Hersheypark and after getting back in the afternoon (after 4) for a break , maid service still hadn't been to our room. To be fair , after arriving home and phoning the manager , the pet charge was removed from our credit card.

The hotel is VERY conveniently located for all attractions in this area and if the rooms were spruced up a bit and the continental breakfast was upgraded a touch too , i would highly rate it .
