We are four female doctors and two nurse practioner, located in Langhorne, Pennsylvania near the Oxford Valley Mall. We are committed to providing high quality pediatric care to infants, children, adolescents, and college students. We Care Pediatrics offers routine well-care visits and same day sick appointments with convenient evening and Saturday morning hours for busy families.
Primary Care
Your child should have a well child visit at the intervals listed below. We recommend that you call our office 3 months in advance to schedule an appointment with your child's primary care provider on the date and in the location that best fits your needs.
Ear Infections
Colds, upper respiratory infections, and URIs are common terms we use to describe viral illnesses that cause nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, fever, and cough. The fever usually lasts for 2-3 days, and the cough with congestion and runny nose may last for 5-10 days. The typical preschool-age child may experience 6-10 colds per year. Most colds resolve on their own with rest and fluids, but some may lead to ear infection, sinus infection, asthma attack, or other complications. If you are concerned about the possibility of one of these complications, please have your child seen in our office for an evaluation.
Emergency Care
For any non-life-threatening emergency, please call our office at (215) 269-3330 during business hours or go to the emergency room. When calling our office, please let the person who answers the phone know this is an emergency; do not let them put you on-hold. If you call after the office is closed, our voicemail will tell you how to contact the answering service to page the doctor on-call (do not leave a message on the voicemail for emergencies, as we only check it every one to two hours). If you don’t hear back from the doctor on-call within 20 minutes, call again or go to the emergency room.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a neurologic disorder in which one has an inability to focus consistently that is disruptive to their daily life. This can occur with or without symptoms of hyperactivity and/or impulsivity. Symptoms occur in multiple settings (at home and at play) not only in the classroom. This disorder has a genetic basis, meaning it tends to run in families. It is not the result of poor parenting, eating too much sugar, or the child being lazy or stupid. ADD is both overdiagnosed and underdiagnosed. Not every child with attention difficulties has ADD. As many other factors, such as illness, learning problems, stress at home, illicit drug use, poor vision, depression, or other psychiatric disorders may resemble this condition. On the other hand, many “daydreamers” who have poor academic achievement due to inability to focus, or children who do well in elementary school but have problems in middle school or high school may be overlooked if they are not disruptive in the classroom.

Health & Behavior Questions For many mental health issues, research suggests that a combination of therapy and psychopharmacology provides the most effective treatment. At We Care Pediatrics, our pediatric nurse practitioner can help you and your family decide if medication might play a useful role in your child’s treatment, make recommendations, discuss with you the associated risks or benefits, prescribe directly to your pharmacy, and monitor for safety. Medication can offer assistance with several symptoms, including inattention, hyperactivity, anxiety, depression, OCD and aggression. Medication use may require weeks or months of treatment in order to achieve a long-lasting, sustained remission. No matter the course, our nurse practitioner will be available to support your child and family along the way! We also believe that success comes from a collaborative approach between the therapist and your child’s health care provider.
Behavioral Health
Please complete requested paperwork 1 week prior to your appointment. If teacher and therapist observations are available, please submit those as part of the paperwork. You and your child will spend time going over pertinent medical history and familial mental health history. All information and screening tools will be reviewed. A behavioral health plan can be developed. This may included recommendations for medication, therapy (cognitive behavioral therapy, talk therapy) and other options to explore (relaxation techniques, mindfulness, yoga, nutrition).
