[Disclosure: It should be noted that I am related to the owner - but I've also had the opportunity to be a customer.] I've had nothing but good experiences with the DeVries Agency - Chad is knowledgeable and helpful (you always get the sense that he's committed to the customer - he always looks for the policy/company that will benefit their individual needs and doesn't try to sell you on something you don't need). The agency also keeps very convenient hours which are helpful for anyone that works a regular 9-5 job. My favorite experience with the DeVries Agency was in buying travel insurance (not offered by my other insurer). Bad weather and worse customer service in Detroit caused us to miss our honeymoon flight to London. The airline was no help so I called the 800 number with the travel insurance policy (fortunately Chad took the time to explain all of the benefits of the policy - and travel assistance was one of them) and they completely solved the problem: found me an alternative flight, got me a one-way car rental to the other airport, booked me a hotel room for the overnight stay, and covered all incidentals in between. We made it in plenty of time to depart with our Europe tour. Not only that, but the insurance policy completely reimbursed us (hassle-free) for all of our expenses related to finding alternate transportation.
