Overall
Fabulous and Fail

As a business traveler, and a worldwide vacationer, it is rare to find food this good and original. And service this amazingly inconsiderate.

I would recommend that anyone give this wonderful cuisine a try. Once. Let the service you receive be your guide as to whether you return. Our first experience gave us the good food / poor service impression but the second (and final) visit was the most telling:

This was to be a special early dinner for us to just celebrate the day. We arrived early to insure seating. There was nothing to worry about. Lots of seating, not many diners, lots of wait staff. Wait staff loitered in numbers I have rarely seen as we dined on excellent, top notch fare. The food was excellent - again. I love this food!

I noticed that my ice tea tasted like dishwater so when a lovely young food runner attended us I returned it to her. She apologized profusely and promised to take care of it. We never saw her again. Or any ice tea. Or the server. Or a manager.

Our server had become harder to spot, rarely seen working the floor. Must be because there are so few diners, I thought. Just lots of staff milling about and talking amongst themselves. When she finally appeared she had our check, which, I pointed out, had a charge for the distasteful ice tea. She was astonished to learn we had sent it back.

We ordered coffee and espresso and off she went. And promptly she returned with an amended check, less the ice tea and plus the additional beverages.

Long after we finished our coffees and long after we had grown impatient to pay the bill and leave, I got up and approached the bunch of employees loitering near the kitchen entrance. I asked them to please find and send our server to pick up the check.

When she finally showed up she did not look pleased. Apparently, we had interrupted her lunch. And she was quite indignant as she informed us of our transgression. I guess she thought we should gladly sit and wait for her to take her lunch break with nothing in front of us but dirty dishes and an amended bill. Lowest I have tipped in 20 years.

No wonder so many staff had so few diners to attend.
