PDS is s a small real estate brokerage. We provide home listing services, buyer agency services. Businesses, governments, and professional organizations employ professionals whose only job is to manage major transactions of land, equipment, and supplies. Why? Because these organizations know that completing major transactions is complex, and that failure to properly manage this complexity can negatively impact them for years to come. Using professional agents ensures the easiest, lowest-risk deals possible. Selling real estate involves the same complexities and potential impacts for a person that a major transaction holds for an organization. Like their organizational counterparts, smart real estate sellers seek out professional selling agents, called “listing agents.” But there is a problem with most of today’s real estate listing businesses. Real estate listing agents often work for real estate “team leaders”, who in turn work for real estate offices, who in turn work for real estate brokers. With all those levels wanting income from each real estate sale, the individual selling a house pays the price, financial and otherwise. In fact, YOU could end up paying that price! In addition to taking part of every commission and especially in a weak market, “team leaders”, real estate offices, and real estate brokers typically charge up-front fees to listing agents. This means those listing agents who work in such a structure must sell several houses before they start making any personal income. Rather than focusing on the listings they have today, these agents need to be taking on as many listings as possible, hoping for enough successful, high-commission sales so that they can start making a living. Too many listings can lead to poor customer service. And those listing agents who aren’t confident in their ability to start making a living at some point will take on additional jobs, further distracting them from selling houses – possibly your house.
