Overall

Had them come out to my home at a referral of a family member. I wasn't able to be present for the inspection and turning on my irrigation system of my new home, but I was told by my wife the tech came, did his job and left. Had to have several heads replaced. Noticed my back yard had never had the system turn on, thought maybe I had missed it. Two weeks later and grass was browning in the back but not the front. Then had to call when I came home from work at lunch after having seen my front yard sprinklers on in the morning only to find them still on.

Tech had to come and rebuild the entire valve, saying he didn't know why it was stuck. He had to replace two more heads in the back! That's TWO service calls that should have been one. Got a bill for the second visit, and got blasted with labor and part charges for something that should have been set right the FIRST time. I contested the service, absolutely willing to pay for parts, but the customer service rep refused to budge after requiring two phone calls to argue about the service charge for the second time (the first call was a very frustrating half an hour with no admission of guilt). Since he was unwilling to take off the $100 charge for the service (just service, not parts) he lost not just one customer, but several of my family and friends in the area. For $100 that should never had to have been paid in the first place.

As for "there was no way we could have known" from the rep, I'll take my chances with other irrigations services.
