Resinoid Engineering Corporation was founded by Clarence A. Herbst, a chemical engineer who designed and formulated phenolics in the early age of plastics. This creativity led to the start of two small companies in the late 1920s and early 1930s. Resinoid grew out of these ventures and was incorporated in 1939. The company is a combination of four unified manufacturing divisions. Each division has its own specialized processes, products and services that supply a broad range of customers. The internal relationships begin with the phenolic material division acting as a key supplier of phenolic molding compounds to the slip ring, commutator and custom molding divisions. Resinoid supplies the aftermarket automotive industry throughout the world. It also produces products for a wide variety of nonautomotive industries, such as appliances, electrical components, power tools and other applications. The company has locations in Hebron, Ohio.
