Southwire Company was founded to provide electricity to rural Georgia more than 50 years ago. The company supplies wire and cable products to more than 130 leading power and utility companies in the United States. The company began operations with 12 employees, three used machines in a 12,000-square-foot building. Its products include copper and aluminum building wire, flexible cord, flexible conduit section, Canadian building wire, branch circuit, and whip products. Southwire Company also provides aluminum bare transmission and distribution cable, aluminum-covered line wire, aluminum service drop, aluminum spacer cable and tree wire, copper products, and cable-in-conduit products. Southwire Company is located in Hawesville, Ky.
