Julie Tedesco

In my opinion, Julie is inexperienced and dangerous. Our addicted family member was in crisis. Julie suggested a "tough love" approach. She advised us to tell our loved one to "call Julie Tedesco, or call 211", and hang up. Which we did. For a year. I was mortified to find out (much later) that when the call was made to her, she told our loved one: "What do you want me to do? Call 211".
By some miracle, there was an intervention. By strangers. AFTER an ER visit for suicidal thoughts, and deep,deep depression. My lovely family member had become homeless. It should be noted that he never called asking for money. Only support from his family. We said "call 211". Over a very painful period of over a year, I learned that he had somehow been sober the entire time. His doctors and counselors confirmed this. and frankly, they were as appalled as I was about Ms. Tedesco's "professional" advice.
I implore you to do better by your loved ones. Find reputable doctors, or APRNs by contacting DMHAS at ct.gov
Not sure I can ever forgive myself for following Julie's lousy, ill informed advice.
