        Dairy Farmers of America, also known as DFA, is a dairy marketing cooperative. It is owned by more than 18,000 dairy farmers in over 45 U.S. states. The cooperative has nearly 4,000 employees. Founded in 1998, its products line includes American and Italian cheese, coffee creamers and milk. Dairy Farmers of America participates in joint ventures with Hiland Dairy Foods, Roberts Dairy, Wilcox Farms and Stremick Heritage Foods. The cooperative operates a transportation tank division. It ensures compliance with the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration. The cooperative offers products under the Sport shake brand.
