US Post Office

Today, July 20,2012, I encountered a very rude and abrupt mail carrier on the Dorrance St. route. It was 10:30 am and I was on my way out of town. I went by the post office to secure my mail and was told that the carrier had already left. I saw him on School St. and asked if I could get the mail for 75 Dorrance St as I had to go out of town and needed to deposit a check that was in the mail He abruptly said "No, you will have to wait until I get there." I told him that that would be three oclock and I needed to go to the bank . Again he said," you will have to wait until I get there." I said could you have a little mercy and let me have it now, he said "NO". I have lived on that route for 39 years and have never had a problem getting my mail if I needed to go away before delivery. Kent was wonderful at serving us. I don;t know who is responsible for training this new carrier, but he needs to be a little more compassionate and sensitive to the needs of his senior residents.
