Groton Multicultural Montessori

My daughter is finishing her 3-year cycle at GMM but I am convinced GMM will still be part of our family for many more years to come!The teachers have a lot of experience with kids and it shows! They simply care and respect the little ones as much as the big ones! They teach them how to communicate with each other in a respectful way, share and deal with their feelings, how to take care of their peers and environment. The mixed age group has worked wonders on my daughter. She learned how to be patient and respect differences. She has also gained confidence and leadership, learned how to read, count, write, think for herself, be curious about the world and the different cultures, about space, nature,how to sing in Spanish, Hindi, practice yoga, sew, cook, garden, take piano lessons, tie her shoes, broom the floor... ( we receive pictures of our kids in action!) Thanks to those wonderful teachers and peaceful and playful environment that promotes a simple joy of learning!

This is a great program, the directors/teachers are wonderful. The environment is loving, with special attention paid to creating a warm, safe, and enjoyable learning space for the children to do their work. The program is ideal - it's the Montessori philosophy with a focus on diversity and multiculturalism. The kids have exposure to different cultures, languages, arts, food, music, etc. And of course, with the children's work they will learn about numbers/math, letters/reading, and science, in addition to many other things. The children learn about grace (really!) and manners too - which carries over to the home. The physical school space in lovely too, with lots of natural light and pretty wooded grounds. One of the best schools in the area -- a true 5 star Montessori preschool!
