Dr. Shah pursued his medical school training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and completed his general surgery residency at Stony Brook Medicine, where he developed a profound interest in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. After residency, Dr. Shah moved to North Carolina for his next opportunity. He trained as a fellow at the East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine. During his fellowship, he gained well-rounded experience in minimally invasive surgery, including a broad range of primary and revisional bariatric procedures. Dr. Shah is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
