        The First Sort of Real Mex Resaurant

        Staffed by people clearly from "the Old Country" El Potro is the first real--sort of, Mex restaurant in Itasca Co since the 60's when a Mexican born ex-pat and his locally born wife set up shop for a couple of years. It's quite good and popular.Americanized to the point that they can survive this close to the Canadian border but it's still the best of it's kind I've found in the rural North.My only complaints are that they only serve red chile (have to go to Zorbaz,a Pizza/bar/Mex joint on Pokegama lake of all places for green chile!) and they could offer chile w/a pumped up heat factor!
