Hahn's Gourmet

I would love to give Hahn's a higher rating and for the fodo alone, I might go 4 stars but this place could use some work.



Nowhere is there a price on anything and I've gone a few times, ordering the same thing and the total varies, so I'm not sure what's up with that.



The service is absolutely nothing remarkable - the kids working there will wait on you, but with no enthusiasm and often they don't know what is what in the bakery case. If you are looking for smiling happy faces, this is not the place for you.



The decor is nonexistent. If you were expecting a charming little bakery with a mom and pop feel, its more like wandering into a grocery store bakery behind the doors - giant rolls of saran wrap and stacks of go-to boxes, all their office stuff is visible and they have 3-4 tables less than 2 feet from the bakery case for sitting.



It's super charming to see the kids that work there, sitting at a table with a large pizza - love to smell greasy pizza while I'm shopping for dessert - it really sets the mood.



While their crumb cake is good, I never know if I'm paying $2.75 - $4.25 for a chunk of it and after coming in near closing time, I now know not to expect anything to be fresh after watching the kids that work here wrap up everything for the next day.

The nicest people run this place! Huge sconces, fresh fruit tarts, melt-in-your mouth butter cookies, plenty of chocolate choices, too! Everything is incredibly fresh and made with much care and love! A few tables and fresh coffee, so you can indulge on site. We always bring extra home for friends. Visit once and you'll make it a habit!!!

I stopped in over the weekend with my family. I could smell the bread baking from part of the way down the block - I'm so glad I stopped in. We bought slices of carrot cake and a cinnamon coffecake - the portions are huge, but the downside is - there are no prices marked on anything. It was about $2.50-$3.00 per piece, but the flavors were great.



A little on the pricey side, but I will be going back.
