        E.K. Walker Photography is proud to offer quality custom equine, portrait and family photography on location in the Triangle area of North Carolina. My primary focus is producing beautiful, technically sound images that capture the personality of a subject or the soul of a moment. I believe strongly in quality over quantity and put careful consideration into each click of the shutter. I hand-edit each selected image and work with a professional print lab to ensure that you receive only the finest and most durable of artwork. Each client is given full individual attention and the utmost of personalized care. I have extensive experience as both a retoucher and a portrait/family photographer but started out shooting primarily horses. I’ve been riding since I was a toddler and fell head over heels for Arabians as a small child. My Arab gelding Silver was my first regular subject and remains a staple in my portfolio. In late 2010 I bought my second Arab, a firebreathing dragon of a weanling colt named Flame. He was my pride and joy and my main source of at-home photographic practice as I branched out into paid work. He charmed everyone he met with his cheeky, hyperactive, bursting-at-the-seams-with-love personality. As some things are just too good for this world, Flame fractured his skull in a pasture accident and died after three weeks of round-the-clock care at barely five years old. Suddenly there was no such thing as “too many photos.” I realized how many I’d carelessly resized for web/Facebook use without keeping the originals I could have had printed. I realized that I had almost no photos of the two of us together. This is why I do what I do: to prevent repetition of my own mistake and to help others capture the precious moments they’ll hold close to their hearts for the rest of their lives.
