I would not recommended job corp to any one pink, orange, yellow,black or white!!!!And yes there r more African Americans then caucasian and yes there r tension between races and if u say there isn't ur a flat out liar!!!!! There is a lot that goes on behind the walls and gates that one would not see people getting bullied on pay days!!!!!! selling of cigarets on credit if ther still allowed to smoke.. when I went was back between 1996 threw 1998 the full two years u just have to stand ur ground and do what u need to and there r between 2 to 4 sets of bunkbeds depending on the size of the room

Is there mostly young teens that go here? How many 23 or 24 year olds here, you think?

I am writing here to clear up a few things that have been said by others visiting this site. Yes, the majority of the residential students attending are African American. Does that mean that if you're white you'll be blatantly ignored and trampled? No. I've been here over a month now, and I do intend to stay a full year or more if necesary, and I have yet to see any real confrontations or issues stemming from race. A few individuals seem to be a tad bit misguided, and you'll find that true all over America, but the vast majority will treat you the way you ask to be treated. Show respect to your peers, and they'll respect you. Note that I am writing this on February 16 of 2011. I didn't read when the other reviews were made, but I feel it is safe to say that the individuals who had a bad experience at this or ANY Job Corps center were the same ones not doing what they were supposed to be doing. No, the food is not 4-star gourmet. No, the beds are not temper-pedic matress's. Deal with it.
