YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK!!!!!



After reading reviews about how Cotswold will keep your deposit, regardless of how clean and perfect you leave the apartment, I figured this was just an angry tenant and gave Cotswold the benefit of doubt.



Of course, I was wrong. I should have known this place had shady management from the moment I wanted to do a walk-through when I decided to move out, and the manager (Kim) was not available to talk the rare times I was free during normal business hours. I work full time M-F, so the fact that they do not accommodate doing any walk-throughs after 5 or on weekends is just plain ridiculous.



I lived by myself in a one-bedroom apartment for one year, and didn t have any pets, kids, or any visitors over. I kept my apartment squeaky clean, since my biggest pet peeve is a dirty or disorganized place, and kept it this way until the day I moved out.



A few weeks after moving out, I received a letter in the mail while I was on vacation in Europe. The letter stated that not only was my FULL deposit not going to be returned to me, but that I owed an additional $35 to the apartment company, which they stated quite rudely that if it s not taken care of immediately, I was going to be taken to collections. Nonetheless, I was furious. I attempted to call the manager from Europe, in which I was told that she was busy and in a meeting . You can t help but get the feeling that she s told before hand what the call is regarding, and to avoid talking just tells the person answering the call to say she s busy.



After sending emails to Kim, she finally found time out of her busy day to reply back and pretty much say tough luck, you signed a contract and that she would be happy to review the charges with me . As a consumer, I ve never felt so ripped off. It s sad how little protection we have from companies like Manco Abbott, who owns this complex.



Please, do not make the same mistake as me. Listen to what people are writing about this place. THEY WILL KEEP YOUR DEPOSIT, and you will see how shady this place is once you move out.
