Rappahannock Neurosurgery

Dr. Shuman is my doctor and I'm very pleased with her. She, along with her nurse Ashley, have a great bedside manner in addition to being very professional. I have also seen Dr. Kil and like him a lot as well. There is only one other doctor that I've seen at this practice and unfortunately, I did not care for her. The doctor I did not like performed a D & C (due to miscarriage) and seemed to have a very cold & stand-off-ish personality (not Dr. Shuman). At the time of the D & C, I was still grieving and it would have been nice to deal with a doctor who seemed to care, even just a little, about me as a patient and the fact that I lost a child. Overall, my experiences with the practice have been very pleasant and I will continue to go there. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shuman & Dr. Kil.

I see Kathy Reinecke, CNM. She is wonderful! She is very good to comfort and support her patients even when she is quite busy. The work load is too high for the doctors here, I think, which can mean a long wait at times. I do think that it is worth it even when I have to wait for Kathy. The office staff is also very nice and helpful. Like any other big practice you have to be prepared to have another practitioner deliver your baby if your provider isn't on-call. I was SO disappointed that Kathy didn't deliver me! She did come to the hospital three days in a row to check-in on me, though. The doctor I got in her place was horrible! I have also seen Dr. Meyer, Dr. Moulton, and Dr. Smith. They were all good...especially Dr. Meyer. I really liked her style as it is similar to Kathy's. There are two in the practice that I wouldn't recommend (they are the two newest ones).

I see Dr. Jae Kil at this practice and he is wonderful! He always listens and has great bed side manner. My husband never likes my physicians and he thinks very highly of Dr. Kil. I refer all of my friends and family to this practice, because I know that they will be in great hands!
