Our professional and personable staff is highly trained in helping you achieve and maintain healthy eyesight. Our optometrists have a combined experience of over 92 years and specialize in hard to fit contacts, low vision, vision training, diagnostic testing, treatment of glaucoma and other eye diseases.
Macular Degeneration
Following graduation, Dr. Cooper continued to pursue additional training in an Ocular Disease residency program at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia. Her emphasis included diagnosing and managing glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, along with a host of other ophthalmic diseases.
Laser Eye Surgery
Unlike eyeglasses and contact lenses, which simply compensate for vision problems, or eye surgery that alters the anatomy of the eye or surrounding muscles, vision therapy aims to 'teach' the visual system to correct itself.
Cataracts
While in Optometry school, Dr. Cooper's clinical experience was broad, examining patients of all ages, and providing contact lens fits, pediatric examinations, co-managing cataract and refractive surgeries, and diagnosing and treating ocular diseases. On one of her clinical externships, Dr. Cooper trained in a Vision Therapy office, diagnosing and treating children with binocular dysfunction, ocular motor dysfunction, and with those who have difficulty focusing up close.
Eye Exam
Your annual eye exam should include more than just reading an eye chart. Ask us about a non-invasive OCT and OCTA imaging.
Vision therapy is like physical therapy for the visual system, including the eyes and the parts of the brain that control vision. This type of therapy can include the use of lenses, prisms, filters and computer-assisted visual activities. Other devices, such as balance boards, metronomes and non-computerized visual instruments also can play an important role in a customized vision therapy program.
