This place WAS the place to take your pets however after our last experience we will never go back. We picked up our 2 dogs on July 5th after boarding them for a week. When we returned home we noticed that both dogs were acting funny. We ended up having to take both dogs to the Animal ER! One had a double eye infection, a scratch on one of her eyes and an infected sore on her belly. The other had KENNEL COUGH and a bacterial skin rash. When we contacted Animal Campus the girl on the phone simply stated that their Vet there had been closed for the holiday and that someone would get back to us. They never got back to us. They knew the dogs weren't well and they didn't do anything about it!

I wish there was a way to give 0 stars. That is the rating this facility deserves. I had bad experiences in both the boarding area and also in the veterinary office; the last decision resulting in the death of my dog, Diesel.

I brought Diesel to the vet because he had eaten the legs (2) off of a stuffed toy and they got obstructed in his bowel. His usual doctor was full and was unable to perform the surgery to remove the obstruction. They called and asked their senior veterinarian to come in and perform the surgery. I was so appreciative because otherwise I would have had to go to the animal hospital for the surgery ($$$). I now wish I would have chosen the latter. The doctor informed us that he removed one foreign body from Diesel and that he was doing well. When we showed up to pick him up however he was in bad shape. He was not willing to walk, he was very lethargic, and was nothing like the dog I dropped off. The doctor inform us that he would usually keep him because he’s not bouncy back as he would expect but they closed in 30 minutes and he was sure that he would be fine. He sent him home with the following; his temperature is lower than it should be (an initial sign of a perforated bowel), he had no desire to eat or drink (also a sign of a perforated bowel), if he was forced to stand up he would walk very slow(this is called guarding probably from the perforated bowel) , and he wasn’t “bouncy back” as expected. Diesel was actually walking so slow to the car that the doctor picked him up and put him in the car. Within 4 hours I had him at the animal hospital in hypovolemic shock(96.5, normal 101). He was lifeless. Within 24 hours from that time he was put down. It appeared that only one of the two legs had been removed which broke the incision to his bowel and from that he was diagnosed with a septic abdomen. The doctor called me Monday to apologize stating verbatim “I know now I made the wrong choice. I thought it would be ok.” I called the owner to request my money be returned to me because it was the doctors negligence that resulted in the death of Diesel. She didn’t return my calls for 4 days. I then placed a review on their Facebook page and heard back from her within hours. She was made aware of my availability and only called me when I was not available. After two weeks I finally got a hold of her. She informed me that she was not responsible for the doctor’s mistakes and that I would need to take that up with him. She also told me that I pulled a “stint” with my post on Facebook and lastly told me that I misperceived the doctor telling me this occurred at his misjudgment.

Not only should this woman never receive another dollar of business in her life but I would hate for anyone to lose a loved one at the hands of the doctors that they trust. This has been a traumatic experience and I couldn’t bear to have anyone else go through it.

Today was my first visit to the Animal Campus on 10932 West Loomis Road Franklin, Wisconsin. First, I hardly ever write a review. But I was so impressed I wanted to share my experience. We were greeted by a VERY friendly assistant who checked us in, weighed by dog, etc. She also called our old clinic (which I won’t mention ). We were brought to the examination room where after a short wait we met Dr. Jill Kozminski. She examined my dog , gave me options to tests and costs. No pressure to upsell or push products like our last veterinary clinic. She was BY FAR the best veterinarian I have ever dealt with. Pricing was nearly half of what I paid at the last place. Not to mention their condescending attitude and pressure to up sell me. I will be making an appointment to have my dog groomed their and if they are have as nice and professional as the people I met today I will be 100% satisfied. I would recommend 1000% to anyone who is looking for a fair priced carrying experience for themselves and their pet!

All I can say is that I LOVE everything about this place!!! Sometimes the owner doesn't call back, but that's because she's the OWNER -- i.e. probably has a lot on her plate with a day care, boarding, vet, etc. If you call any of the staff, they respond right away and are very caring and helpful. Love Animal Campus and so do my dogs!!

I took my dog to Fetch Fratern...

I took my dog to Fetch Fraternity this week (their Doggy Day care) and honestly couldn't have been happier with the service, care, and quality of their accomodations. I visited two other facilities before choosing Animal Campus, and to me they won hands-down. They don't put the dogs in crates, like other places, and like I could provide at home. The dogs have little cubicle-type spaces that are bright and well-lit where they are given a blanket and can play with their toys. They also get so much play time - about 5-6 hours a day - in a beautiful park-like area with clean, maintained pond on 1.5 acres. They also have the option of the 'smaller yard' if you prefer your dog to be in a less rural environment. I thought my 5-month-old puppy might be scared when I dropped him off and/or picked him up. But I was amazed at how he adapted so quickly, and they even managed to wear him out with all of the play time! I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone.

I honestly would not even give this place ONE STAR! I have used multiple buildings. The owner "Nancy" is very rude to you! My dogs both came home wet from the groomers and my male dog was wearing a girls handkerchief around his neck. I also don't believe the veterinarian techs are certified. Another thing to add I've learned is not only a dog has died here out in their field but a friend (whom no longer uses their daycare) had to put her dog through multiple weeks of shots because another dog coming to the facility had mange and her dog possibly contracted it from their walls! I'm very unhappy with this last Easter break and will never use this company again.

Its hard to make an appointment when they never answer the phone! They should get cordless phones and take them with them. I have called numerous times and never get an answer. My time is precious and dont have many open slots for personal calls during the day!

Our phone lines have been under constant repairs because we had to switch companies around the time of this review. It is also impossible to check our customers in and out with giving them our full attention and make appointments at the same time. So please try to call outside of the hours between 8-10AM and 4-6PM. But we apoligize for the inconvenience and we are continuing to improve our services. You may also E-mail us and we will get back ASAP. You may E-mail us at Dorms@animalcampus.com

Dog Boarding

This kennels is awful. When I picked up my dog she had a puncher wound, a bite in her ear, kennel cough and a parasite in her digestive track. To top it off she lost 15lbs. Dont take your dog here

claimed iconBusiness Response10/25/2010

This review is unfair as all the facts are not mentioned. A puncture wound on the dog was from an accidental bite will playing with another dog. It was small and taken care of by our on staff Veterinarian. There was no additional charge for the incident as it was an accident from 2 dogs playing. A parasite was present in the dog but was already in the dogs system before drop off. Due to the stage of the larva in the dog it would have been impossible to get at our place. Not too mention the customer's dog wasn't on any preventative medicines which is highly recommended by our staff and our Vets. As directed by our staff kennel cough vaccines are recommended at least 14 days prior to any dogs stay. This was not done and signed off on by the dogs owner. Kennel cough is a non serious sickness that is treated like a human would treat a common cold. Dogs often are stressed being in new surroundings. That, with not being properly vaccinated were the main cause to the weight loss. We have many policies and procedures in place so our customers are aware of all that can happen while their dogs stay with us. Animals are unpredictable and we are very good at identifying behaviors and stopping any bad things from happening while they are here. Please visit our facility for yourself to see what we are all about.
