My problem started with my uppper-mid back nearly a year and a half ago. For a year and a half I tried chiropractors, tried changing my sleeping, tried a week of intensively foam-rolling my back for nearly two hours a day, I changed my work desk up and further tried a really intensive fairly expensive six month chiropractic program. Results were poor or inconsistent.

I finally gave in and saw my doctor, she recommended me to a general Results Physiotherapy clinic and I chose this one in Frankllin so I could go during lunch hours. Their techniques included a movement assesment to see what was/wasn't working, they'd physically move your limbs around if that was part of getting you to health, I received deep tissue work on my back to get my muscles unlocked from around a section of my spine. I also was taught a number of exercises - some with tools, some you'd use a large bench in the office, sometimes their actual weight-room equipment. The exercises were adjusted and added to as we went. Lastly, they have an electric stimulation machine to help relax your muscles back. I have a tens unit from a previous attempt to get my back going and it's nothing like that weird zapping feeling, it's much gentler, and it's an optional thing since copays could be an issue, but I found it worthwhile.

First, the staff are all incredible here - they're having fun, making you feel very welcomed (and we are a hugely mixed crowd in age and issues) and even though they're having fun, they're so professional. Not a day went by when I didn't see every member of the staff from the actual Therapists to the assistants to the check in crew helping - checking exercises and guiding form, answering questions, folding towels, finding new stretch bands to use - they are non stop and even so they'd still make sure to check in when you were doing your exercises that you were okay. I even saw them cross training each other on a daily basis, talking about industry advancements and using each other as trainer & trainee to learn how to teach their exercises. I really liked the staff here, super personable, you felt welcomed.

Most importantly and miraculously in my opinion is just how well and how quickly Eric's physical therapy exercises and practices worked. He worked with me to set goals, yes, but we destroyed them in just about two weeks. After a year and a half of what we called my "familiar pain" I got the training, the walk troughs and the initial push to get me to a point where I'm not scared to do the things I used to think caused the pain to worsen. I won't say I'm pain free, mostly a few days I'll have a tightness that makes me nervous but I'm *that* pain free and I can now typically take my exercises and work out the tightness. Stick to your routine, make the effort, these guys seriously try to help and really know their skills to use. In a month I was comfortable enough to "graduate" and I'm not even comfortable working at a desk most days!
