The UPS Store

This is praise for the UPS store at 131 Franklin Drive in Franklin N.C., and a complaint about the FedEx Mail Stop at 1281 Georgia Rd in Franklin N.C..

A gentleman living in Franklin brought a valuable print to the manager at the FedEx MailStop, Scott Zuiderveer, to have the print securely wrapped and shipped to the Netherlands {Holland] to have it authenticated and evaluated there by the Royal Museum. It was to be insured, and arrangements were to be prepayed for the return shipment. Scott had been given four weeks, prepaid, advance notice. After four weeks Scott had not made the necessary arrangements. When the gentleman brought in the print this morning, he was met with a rather indifferent, greeting, followed by many empty promises. By late afternoon it had not yet been wrapped, with all sorts of excuses for the delay. Promised phone calls were not returned --- instead, Scott went home early, totally indifferent to his responsibilities and promises --- the print was not shipped.



Consequently. a quick call was made to the manager, Al Falcon, at the UPS store down the street at 131 Franklin Drive late in the afternoon --- that saved the day. In contrast to Scott, Al Falcone was extremely friendly and forthcoming. The print was picked up from the FedEx MailStop and transferred to Al Falcon at the UPS store. Falcone determined that the print had not been adequately wrapped by the FedEx Mail Stop to fully protect it -- he then properly wrapped it. Al Falcone accomplished everything in a couple of hours in a friendly tone, and the print was sent out. Al Falcone at the UPS store accomplished in those couple of hours what Scott at FedEx had been unable and unwilling to do in four weeks. Scott did not care and never returned unanswered phone calls. He was entirely indifferent. A complaint has been filed at the FedEx Corporate Offices in Memphis with the administrative executive who licensed Scott as a FedEx shipping center. A complaint has also been filed with the Chamber of Commerce.
