I have been going there for years I call tell them to put me on the book for a hog all the meat is cut right and you can cut it with a fork. a 250 to a 300lb hog is what you kill to have good meat not a 475lb and I live 1 hr.from them and will make the drive worth it
I took 3 hogs for butchering - 1 for my family; 1 for my sister and 1 for my niece.The price was the best and well, I guess "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR" is the best way to describe it. I have butchered my own in the past, but due to ill health I chose to have someone do this for me; not only was the meat cut WRONG - making the meat a bit tough; when getting my meat from my 475 lb hog; I had 2 hams - several ham steaks - ALL WITH ABOUT 1 INCH OF FAT AROUND THE EDGES; very little has been tender - most is very tough - same goes for my sisters and niece packages. I'm very sorry we made pricing our top priority. I even made the 1 hr trip back with some of the packages - I was told not all hams are the same! ""There's nothing we can do."
