Highland Rim Economic Corporation is a nonprofit agency that develops and implements programs that improve the condition of low-income families. The agency serves the Tennessee counties of Houston, Humphreys, Stewart and Dickson. It provides grants for the Highland Rim Head Start program. Head Start provides comprehensive childcare, including medical and dental services, to children of low-income families between the ages of three and four. The goal of the program is to insure that underprivileged children enter public school on an even par with more affluent kids. It serves 230 children from 12 classrooms in seven facilities. Highland Rim Economic Corporation s mission it to assist families in becoming self-sufficient. The agency is based in Erin, Tenn.
