Amscan Holdings party products include more than 390 product ensembles each with 30 to 150 coordinating items. It designs, manufactures and distributes party goods including paper and plastic tableware, stationery products, decorative accessories and novelties. Its goods are sold in more than 20,000 retail outlets worldwide, including party goods superstores, independent party, card and gift retailers, mass merchandisers and others. In 1998, Amscan Holdings acquired Anagram International, Inc., based in Minneapolis, Minn. Anagram is a manufacturer of metallic greeting balloons. Anagram products are sold in more than 140 countries through International offices in Australia, Canada, France, German, Japan, Mexico, Spain and the United Kingdom. In February 2002, Amscan Holdings expanded its presence with the acquisition of M&D Industries. Focusing mainly on the domestic market, M&D has a portfolio of licenses including many Disney and Nickelodeon character.
