Northampton County Area Agency on Aging, a division of the department of human services, offers clinical care, family support and residential treatment services for senior citizens. It provides legal advocacy and individual and group counseling services, as well as assistance with health insurance benefits. The organization offers medical information, referral and subsidized employment services for low-income individuals above the age of 55. It provides long-term care planning and coordination services for frail senior citizens in a variety of setting, such as private houses, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.
