Park Chateau Estate and Gardens

My dad drove me here on a Friday night as I was visiting him from NYC. He said, "You're not going to believe this place. This is going to be an experience. I drove past this place for 7 years and never knew they were open."



We pulled into the East Brunswick Chateau and it's eloquently, landscaped 12 acres. It was dark. The place and grounds were lit up. Gorgeous ... Gazebo ... Palatial ... The works! But we didn't see anyone inside ... no help ... no cars ... no customers.



I got out of the car, walked in, and a friendly voice sang out, "Hello."

I said, "Are you open?" She said, "Sure!" I said, "Really?"



This restaurant is like out of the Jack Nicholson movie, "The Shining."



The restaurant is gorgeous, but there's no customers. They don't advertise.

They don't care if they get one table a night. I guess their few catering events support them being open 7 days a week with very few customers and the fact that it's owned by a big Steel mill in NJ. I couldn't help thinking, this would be a gold mine under the proper management ... heck ... it would be a gold mine if they just ran a few ads as this area of NJ was starved for decent dining.



The food ... was excellent! The service ... well .. one waitress, Grace, who was so accomodating, so friendly, you just enjoyed the experience. And having the place all to ourselves, it was like my dad rented this out for the evening. I felt like Royalty.



Give this place a try. The food prices are reasonable. The food, delicious. But you won't know they're open if you don't walk in. It's like entering the Twilight Zone from the outside. But it was a great evening. I hope to go back soon. Thanks Dad!
