I was extremely disappointed with my visit to this restaurant. The food was good, but the portions were outrageously small and overpriced. I don't mind paying more for good food; however I ordered the crab cakes and they were about the size of a large scallop each. Also, if I am paying this much for food, the restaurant should give me more than a small slice of bread before the meal and should absolutely offer a house salad with the entree (I really don't know a restaurant except for Theodora's that doesn't offer at least a small salad with such a pricey entree - ok really any main entree pricey or not). I had a selection of two sides (mashed potato or a sweet potato) and no choice whatsoever in the vegetable side - again who ever heard of this lack of selection for a full sized restaurant?! I honestly feel that the customers are being swindled due to the fact the owner(s) spent way too much $ on renovations to the building. It is nicely decorated and the staff was courteous. I would never recommend that anyone go to that restaurant; it is a shame though because the "little" food I did get was good.
My family of six had reservations for Thursday 5/15.Decor was beautiful and wait staff very friendly and accommodating. Food was very good but the portions and price would make a grown man cry. It is too expensive and the portions are for petite appetites. For $26.00, I had the scallops in a cream sauce with caramelized mushrooms. Mushrooms were pureed and the sauce drowned the 5 scallops. With entree, choice of baked potato, or garlic mashed or mixed vegetable which consisted of green beans and carrots. No salad, this was extra. Salads were only part of any pasta order. Pasta taste and sauces were average. A member of my party had the crab cakes (2) with the potato or vegetable side. Size was small and both cakes together were about 1/2 the size of (1) crab cake from JJ Banko's in Nanticoke, and cost $5.00 more. The final entree was the Chicken- French was actually was Chicken Francaise. Delicious but again, it was a small portion. Total bill for 6 of us exceeded $200.00 with gratuity. Unfortunately, this restaurant is too rich for my tastes and budget.
We attended the lunch on Saturday July 26th and Corey was our waiter. We were seated immediately and everyone was very friendly to us. Corey came over immediately and began to get us started with drinks and answer our questions about the menu. A few of us including myself got the stuffed eggplant and it was delicious. In fact I even took 1/2 home. They gave us a salad with our meal and it was a very generous portion. Everything was very fresh and delicious , and I was very pleased with the service and the meal. Lastly, to top it off I got the fresh peach cobbler, which was superb with the peaches and this warm cake with strawberries and whip cream. Overall I was very pleased with the food, the service, and Corey our waiter. We will definitely return.
