Went to this shop figuring I would get a better install on a stereo in my Corvette. The salesman should have been my first clue, but I ignored the red flags. I told him what I was looking for and he immediately recommended a certain unit paired with certain speakers. When I went to pick up my car after the install, he closed me out on the $, and told me the car is in back and you will have to come back for a instruction on the stereo, he was too busy, really. I got in my car and turned on my new stereo and was expecting to be blown away, and I was, It sounded like Crap! No matter how the equalizer or other options were set. I decided to go home and read the manual. When I pulled out I hit the gas and my convertible top flew open, Installer had the top down and did not latch it.
The next day I put the top down and when I did, the deck Jammed and I could not release, the carpet was intwined with the top mechanism because the installer did not put it back properly. Next I called Lake City and spoke with the owner John. I told him about the fiasco and that the bottom line was that the stereo sounded like crap. He had the attitude that I didn't buy good enough speakers nor an amplifier, and in a convertible you need all that. WTF. I bought the equipment his salesman recommended, Twilight Zone? The salesman called back and set a time for him to analize. He did and told me they tried to use my factory amplifiers but it didn't work, He said it doesn't always. So why did no one listen to the sound quality after the install? Another thing was that the unit that he recommended interfered with my shifter when installing a CD It need a different one for this not to happen, they never called to tell me this, really you have to have your car in drive to change the disc! We set up a time to replace the unit, bypass the amps, and oh fix the console that was messed up from running a USB cable through it. You can ignore all the other "reviews

From my perception and experience thus far this looks like a good family local run store. They take their business seriously. One of the best things I saw was their warranty and customer service as they were definitely their top priorities. Their prices are competitive compared to all of the local stores and they have a much larger display and in store inventory than any place I have ever been.
The first thing I did here was get my tint installed. The store owner was nice enough to drive my car to their tint building about five minutes away and do it all himself. Great customer service. It seems to have gotten a little messed up, probably do to the quick change in temperature, but there are still a few bubbles on it that were supposed to go away after a few days. I called in and let them know my situation and they offered to redo it free of charge, because it comes with a lifetime warranty. Definitely a great thing to hear.
To top it off the store owner called me a week later to see how my install was going and if i was satisfied. I definitely plan on going back to get the rest of my car audio installed, as you can all see from the reviews, they do great work, but small mistakes every once in a while are inevitable.

I knew nothing about Laketown S&S until I was directed there by an XM InstallCard. We made an appointment to have an XM radio installed, and we missed the appointment. I was worried that we might be charged some sort of ""missed appointment"" fee. But no! We just rescheduled as if nothing had happened. Then, initially the diagnosis on the install suggested that we might need to purchase a special adapter to attach to the car's antenna for approx $38 or so. But when I showed up to retrieve the car and pay for the adapter, I was informed that they discovered it wasn't needed because my stereo had an auxillary input they could use instead. The installation was well done, and everything works great!
The bottom line is that I am convinced that Laketown Speed & Sound is a customer-friendly place. I don't feel that they're trying to squeeze money out of people, and they really want to make sure that the customer is happy with what he's getting. In the future, if I seek any services that they can perform, I will go to them first. I am sending my daughter there to redo the tinting in her car.

I wanted to thank Lake Town Speed and Sound for the work they did on my 2006 Tiburon. I had electrical problems with the car. I took my car into the dealership for them to try and fix the issue. After a day of having my car, the dealership told me I needed a new battery. I replaced my battery as requested by the dealership only to run into the same issue I had before. I contacted the dealership and told them the problem was still there. They told me to bring it in but due to the Memorial day weekend, they won't be able to fix it till Tuesday. As well, the dealership told me it was going to cost up to $500 to trouble shoot the problems. Since I had a lot of aftermarket parts on my car, the dealership didn't know where to start. Seeing how I had a lot of aftermarket parts, I decided to take my car from the dealerhip and take it to Lake Town. The people at Lake Town fit me into their schedule on a Saturday and said they will work to fix the problem the same day. Lake Town closes at 6pm on Saturday. However, they worked until 7pm to make sure my car was fixed. They only charged me $90 to fix my car which was for both parts and labor!!! Instead of paying up to $500 at a dealership and not getting my car till Tuesday, Lake Town worked late on Saturday and were able to get my car fixed at a fraction of a price. I will be going to Lake Town for any of my aftermarket parts from now on. THEY ROCK!!!! Thanks Lake Town!!!

You will not be disappointed with Lakewood Speed and Sound. They know what they are doing and will make sure you get a system that you will love. Ask for Glen. He is very patient and will take care of you. They didn't charge me for anyting unnecessary and their insallers are amazing!!
