Teeth Cleaning
Dr. Bae and her Hygienist recommend you brush at least twice a day. After eating, sugars and carbohydrates from food left on teeth combine with the bacteria in your mouth. This produces acids that attack your teeth, leaving you susceptible to tooth decay. A good tooth cleaning will help remove dental plaque bacteria and reduce your chances of getting dental cavities.

Dental Sealants
Sealants are a safe, painless and low cost way to help protect your child’s back teeth from decay. A thin plastic coating is bonded to the chewing surface of the molars and premolars. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth and causing decay.

Fillings
Veneers
A veneer is paper thin; custom made covering that conceals the front surface of your tooth. Veneers are made of a very durable ceramic material that actually can strengthen your tooth. They can correct stains, breaks, odd shapes, and lengthen individual teeth without removing them. The first appointment involves Dr. Bae choosing the best color to blend in with your natural teeth. Tooth enamel is then removed so the veneer will blend in with the surrounding teeth. An impression of the prepared tooth and the surround and opposing teeth is taken. A temporary material is then applied to protect the prepared tooth between visits. Your next appointment, in approximately 3 weeks, will be to permanently cement the veneer in place. If the veneer needs further adjustments or changes, additional visits will be required. Please note you may be required to visit our dental lab for custom shade and shaping appointment.
Crowns
A crown is an artificial cover that restores a decayed or damaged tooth to its normal shape and size. It is useful for protecting the structure of a tooth that is cracked, broken, or had root canal therapy. Your first appointment involves preparing the damaged tooth by reducing and reshaping the tooth so the crown will fit. Then an impression of the prepared tooth and the surrounding and opposing teeth is taken, we apply a temporary crown to protect the prepared tooth between visits. Your next appointment time, approximately 2 weeks, will be to permanently cement the crown in place. If the crown needs further adjustments, additional visits may be required. Please note you may be required to visit our dental lab for custom shade and shaping appointment.
Bridges
A fixed bridge can replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more replacement teeth attached to crowns that are placed on two or more surrounding healthy teeth. Along with replacing teeth, the fixed bridge helps restore the normal function and proper position of your bite. The first appointment involves reshaping the teeth that will hold the bridge in place. Then an impression of the prepared teeth and the surrounding and opposing teeth is taken. We then apply a temporary bridge to protect the prepared teeth between visits. Your next appointment, in approximately 2-3 weeks, will be to permanently cement the bridge into place. If the bridge needs further adjustments, additional visits may be required.
Dental Bonding

Root Canal Treatment
A root canal is a treatment used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, Dr. Bae removes the nerve and pulp and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed. Without treatment, the tissue surrounding the tooth will become infected and abscesses may form.

Periodontal Surgery
Deep Cleaning
Scaling and root planing is the first approach for treating periodontal disease. This procedure is a deep cleaning to remove bacterial plaque and calculus (tartar). Scaling involves scraping tartar from above and below the gum line. Root planing smoothes the root surfaces of the teeth. Your dentist will reevaluate the success of this treatment in follow-up visits. If deep periodontal pockets and infection remain, periodontal surgery may be recommended.

Dentures
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. Two types of dentures are available – complete and partial dentures. Complete dentures are used when all the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.

Dental Implants
Dental implants are artificial tooth replacements used to replace missing teeth. Although you have a number of restorative options for the treatment of missing teeth, none have proven to be as functionally effective and durable as implants. In many cases, dental implants may be the only logical choice for the restoration of all necessary functionality of the teeth and supporting structures.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

There may be some discomfort following oral surgery. DO NOT TAKE ASPIRIN, it promotes bleeding. Take Tylenol or Motrin at first. If you were given a prescription, take this to relieve the pain.
