Exit strategies for some of her corporate clients include implementing succession plans to transfer ownership to the next generation, which dovetails nicely into Kristen’s practice in advising high net worth individuals in their estate plans. Kristen provides creative estate planning solutions to individuals planning for the next generation of business leaders, including the preparation of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, premarital agreements, and the creation of charitable organizations.
Guardianship
She has dealt directly with brokers, realtors and lenders to draft escrow agreements and prepare closing documents, and has experience drafting all forms of title opinions, including drilling, division order and acquisition opinions covering fee, state and federal lands. Mallory utilizes her real estate and oil and gas title expertise to guide her clients in creating their estate plans and assisting with probate and trust administration where real property and mineral interests are involved. She also advises clients with respect to guardianships and conservatorships.
Beginning with a return to his hometown of Casper after graduation from the University of Wyoming’s College of Law, John worked for County and District Courts in Natrona County, performing legal research for judges, drafting opinions and decision letters and assisting the court in hearings and jury trials. Following his one-year term, John began three years of private practice focusing on oil and gas law, criminal defense and domestic relations.

Sex Crimes
In 1990, John became an Assistant District Attorney in Casper, with extensive experience in the prosecution and litigation of narcotics cases, domestic violence offenses, sexual assault and child exploitation. 1995 found John in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Wyoming, primarily responsible for the enforcement of computer crimes and crimes against children, but also prosecuting the entire spectrum of federal criminal offenses from large, multi-defendant narcotics conspiracies, to gun crimes and bank robberies to immigration offenses and wildlife crimes. During this time, John was also responsible for the training of federal and state law enforcement officers in substantive issues of law as well as interrogation, detention and search and seizure
Fraud
Represented client in an eight week criminal jury trial in federal court where client was acquitted of all charges, including money laundering, wire fraud and RICO charges.
Embezzlement
Pitney Bowes, Inc. v. Alexander Tallentire, Jr., Case No. 93CV2359, Denver District Court, Judge McMullen. Trial Judgment entered in favor of client for approximately $1 million in Civil action for embezzlement of funds by former employee.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Business Disputes
Jens volunteers as coach for his son’s soccer team and on the board of a local non-profit that supports outdoor education. Jens has over the past years successfully litigated, arbitrated, and mediated a wide range of natural resources and general business disputes from minor breach of contract cases, through multi-party water law litigation, to large class actions. Prior to moving to Colorado, Jens worked at the Embassy of Denmark in London where he dealt with agricultural, renewable energy, security, and judicial reform policies and consular matters.

Construction Contracts
Ken has presented seminars to state Bar members and various industry groups on issues including contractor and materialman’s liens, construction contracts, and business entities. Ken assisted in modernizing the Wyoming Limited Liability Company Act as a member of the Wyoming Secretary of State’s Limited Liability Company Brain Trust in 1992 and as a member of the committee that revised and adopted the Uniform Limited Liability Company Act for adoption in Wyoming in 2010. He also serves on the board of directors for various community organizations.
Represented numerous employers and employees in disputes over wages, ownership interests, non-compete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets, discrimination and wrongful termination claims.

Employment Contract
Jordan is an experienced tax and business planning attorney. He has worked with corporations, partnerships, and LLCs on matters including entity formation and dissolution, strategic acquisitions and restructuring, and tax planning, as well as customer agreements, employment contracts, equity compensation programs, and other general business transactions. He has authoritative knowledge of tax law and helps clients mitigate tax liabilities in taxable, tax-deferred, and tax-free transactions, advising on U.S. federal, state, and local taxes and cross-border tax considerations.

Hampton O’Neill specializes in civil litigation, and has practiced law in Wyoming for over thirty years. His focus is primarily business, commercial and insurance litigation, the defense of personal injury actions, and defending governmental liability and civil rights claims. He has extensive experience in defending claims based on products liability, medical malpractice, industrial, oilfield, construction, and trucking accidents, in addition to wrongful death, premises liability, recreation industry accidents, insurance coverage and bad faith.
Disability Discrimination
Valerie Martinez v. Pitney Bowes, Inc., Case No. 93CV1312, United States District Court, District of Colorado, Judge Carrigan. Summary Judgment entered in favor of defendant client on all claims of gender, race and disability discrimination.
Mallory brings her background in geology and prior experience working as Associate General Counsel and as an escrow officer for a Colorado title company to her oil and gas, estate planning, and elder law practices.
Wills
When it comes to estate planning, our goal at Welborn is to help our clients develop an estate plan that meets their personal and financial goals while preparing for a smooth transition of wealth. We can create a plan that balances our clients’ personal goals with reducing the impact of transfer taxes upon death. In addition to the preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney and living wills, we also provide a full range of legal services relating to estate and trust administration. Our administration services include the oversight of estates and trusts as well as advising personal representatives and trustees. At Welborn, we have the additional expertise to obtain clear title to all types of mineral interests in Colorado and other states.
Trusts
Since 2009 Patrick has practiced in Welborn’s Casper, Wyoming office. His practice involves natural resources and energy, trusts and estates, dispute resolution and transactional issues. In the natural resources and energy area, Patrick’s work includes mineral and surface title examination of federal, state and fee lands; permitting related to wind and solar projects; condemnation for pipelines and power lines; and representation of state agencies regarding various energy issues. With regard to trusts and estates, Patrick’s work includes drafting estate plans; probating estates; and providing advice on related issues. Patrick’s practice also includes advising corporate and government clients on a wide range of transactional issues, and preparing necessary contracts and agreements.
Jennifer began her career in a state and local tax litigation boutique, where she honed her tax and financial expertise and developed a proficiency in administrative and appellate practice. She continues to guide business taxpayers through audit, refund, protest and other administrative processes; work with governmental authorities to obtain positive outcomes for her clients; and litigate state and local tax disputes.
