I had visited this business in past for eyeglasses without customer service or product issues. Went there about 45 days ago for the second time hoping to get some new eyeglasses before I moved out of state. Worked with Jerry both times; he is now the manager. First question wife and I asked him was can we get glasses purchased at his store serviced in Iowa. He asked where, I said DesMoines. He said yes, this will not be a problem... Based on this false information, I made an approximate $350 purchase. Forty five days later, I got a scratch on my lense and proceeded to contact One Hour Optical in DesMoines to be told that Jerry was incorrect and I cannot receive any service there without payment in full. Maybe that is what he thought I was asking, can I go pay someone to service my glasses in Iowa, I think not.

I immediately called Jerry who had the audacity to tell me what he meant by saying it would not be a problem for me to get my glasses serviced in DesMoines was that I could mail him the glasses when I needed them serviced.. like I can mail him them to get them adjusted.., which is an every other month service I typically require. I said this unacceptable and I want a refund. He said no way as we are now outside the 30 day money back guarantee timeframe.

He said whatever he thought he must to sell me a pair of glasses that day and hoped that when I needed them serviced and uncovered his lie it would be too late. He was correct, please do not continue to reward this business for their malfeasance.

Not the first place I called, ...

Not the first place I called, but the only place that would see me within 45 minutes of closing. They took care of me like I was the only person in the store, by the time I was done I was the only customer in the store. The girl who helped me was very patient and helpful. Price was nice glasses were just what I wanted and more. Then I went to pick them up and the experience changed. The guy opened up the case showed them to me, I put them on and he sent me on my way. No adjustment, he did not even clean the dust and finger prints off the lenses. I was at a loss for words, I have progressive lenses so fit is very important. I drove home and called them I am going back today to be fitted, out of my way. So what may have been 5 stars turned into 2.5 my recommendation would be make sure you by-pass any of the men and ask for a female associate they will take there time and make sure everything is taken care of.

Great Experiance

When i saw the reviews on the other websited I thought that maybe I should not even go near this place, but I had to. Anyways, i soon as I got there i was welcomed with big warm smiles. The exams were quick and it seemed that the team cared about my eye problem. Well Robert was the guy that helped me pick out my frames, he was very patient, as i'm really picky. I loved experiance will come back here again.

Impressed by the selection of frames

I was impressed by the selection of frames available at the store. They have frames starting at $50, and I was able to find very fashionable frames for $209 and a second pair for half price! Of course getting them back the same day is a special treat for someone who prefers immediate gratification with no sacrifice to quality!



Rude and uncaring

I had been getting my son's glasses at the main store on Mexico and Colorado for over a year. I was pleased at first but came to realize that while some of the reps were fine, the men that work in the store have all been completely rude to my family. Upon further investigation I discovered that one of the men that was very rude to my husband was the owner of the store. I can see why they would have no reason to be pleasant if the owner cannot even be bothered to treat the customers with respect.

Even though this store is 10 minutes from my office I will be travelling to find a new one because I am not going to put up with their attitudes.

The sad part for them is my son is 5 and will be needing glasses for the rest of his life. In fact we get on average a new pair every three months. They have lost a potential lifetime client.

Seeing clearly!!

My experience at One Hour Optical was great! I was immediately greeted by staff, which was comforting because of the overwhelming selection of glasses. I did not have an exam here but was told I could make an appointment for my family, since I needed to schedule my husband and kids for exams. The staff was extremely helpful and I love my glasses and we will be going back!!

More like ""One Hundred Twenty Day Optical""

Perhaps the single worst shopping experience I can recall! From the outset I was told what I own personal choice was labelled out of style and unavailable--translate that as 'we'll select for you and get your money so the transaction can be over....and the customer disservice can begin'....I was treated rudely by arrogant staff who were condescending and chilly. I ordered glasses....they were unsatisfactory and my attempt to have them replaced was met by scorn and contempt. I had to call to check on the status of my order when promised delivery dates came and went with no contact from the store. I tried to stay subservient and good natured but finally couldn't take it anymore when the manager responded to me by telling me to 'keep the sarcasm coming'.....then begged off any responsibility by telling me that he 'couldn't track every pair of glasses that goes through my store....' The owner acknowledged that the staff I was unhappy with had 'been talked to before and had a little trouble with their attitudes....' I was even offered compensation for my disservice.....which I relinquished when I finally cancelled my order after 120 days came and went.... I have never been able to treat people the way this staff treated me. I would be very cautious about using this 'service'.....but, no worries, I won't be the guy in line ahead of you.
