Bay, Community Church

First off, I'm glad other people have had an amazing experience at this church. I wish I had their experience. However, my family and I haven't. They will be nice and pleasant until, you mention doing the right thing. That's when things change. Pastor Jerry ALWAYS preaches about doing the right thing. That's the message they push, but that's not what this place stands for. Say what you will about my experience, but until you've gone through my experience you simply can't speak upon it. They should be ashamed of their decisions and actions. Again, this is just my experience, not everyone will have an eye opening situation like we did. Just be cautious.

Our family visited the church recently and were so pleasantly surprised by the warm & inviting facilities (including an awesome cafe!). I felt very comfortable - not like a visitor at all. The staff helped me locate the classes for our 4 year old and she didn't want to leave! She keeps asking to go back to "the church with the giant playground". Praise and worship was among the best i've ever heard. The message was awesome & very applicable. I'm sure our family will strongly consider Bay Community Church when selecting a church be part of!

This church is all about hype and look. So much focus is placed on the external ("fitting in" with wearing certain types of clothes and having and protecting an "image") that very little real ministry is going on here. When the church does outreach (such as the bike giveaways each Christmas and giving away money to the community) it is done merely to help its "image" and attract potential new attendees. This place is all about a large crowd, and if the crowd isn't large enough on the weekend the staff hear about it on Monday morning from the senior pastor. It's a numbers game here, and I don't mean to win new people to Christ.



Folks, take my advice and find a church where some real ministry is going on and not a glorified light show. The people here have a false sense of humility (if you can even say there is any humility here). They work very hard to protect their image, and they'll do anything "in the name of Christ" to make the community think they're doing good. They're building "their" kingdom here, and not Christ's Kingdom. Don't be fooled. If you want to go to a church where EVERYTHING is all about appearance and how things look, then you will probably be happy here, especially if you fit in with the typical upper class Spanish Fort snobs. If you're looking for down-to-earth people, don't even bother going here, especially if you're slightly over weight or don't wear the latest fashionable clothes. Forget it.

This is the most amazing church that I have ever attended! It is vibrant and growing. The Spirit of God is present whenever the doors are opened. The word of God is Preached without compromise. The music is beautiful and praise filled, led by the Best musicians in the country.
