Westchester Tent and Party Rental

Actually this business deserves no stars. All I can say is buyer beware. They offer a good price but for inferior products and installation. After setting up our tent for my sons rehearsal dinner, I complained that the tent didn't look stable. I was assured it was sufficently staked although only 2 corners were staked in the ground and two were held by 50lb cement blocks. The other 4 poles were not staked at all. I live on the L.I. sound and was skeptical. I called the next day and insisted that the tent be fully secured since storms were expected. Lenny, our go to person for the install, was very defensive but said they would come the next day, the day of our event, to secure the tent. They never came, the storm did, and the tent became airborne on three sides with the remaining tent poles bending in place. The tent moved 4-6 feet to my neighbors property. I called immediately as the storm was in progress, three times before a call back. Again Lenny was extremely defensive saying how was he supposed know when the storm was coming when the storm was coming. The tent co arrived 2 hrs before our party. Took over an hour to fix the tent but left the cleanup to us, resetting the tables and chairs and now having no time to set up for the party. My husband stayed behind, missing the rehearsal, we called in friends and set up, but not before my husband hurt his back. He was in extreme pain that night and the day of the wedding. He is know seeing a Dr. with ongoing pain. There has been no apology. They even suggested that we asked them not to stake the tent. I have called several times and my call has gone unanswered. I caught Lenny answering the phone one day, requested a refund, was laughed at, and was promised a call from the allusive owner, whose name they would not give. This company is, by far, the most unprofessional, I have ever encountered. I have disputes filed with the BBB and the credit card company and my next step will be small claims court. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and steer clear of Fairfield Tent and Party who also do business as Westchester Tent.
