Located in Daly City, Calif., George Washington Elementary School offers academic classes to students in kindergarten through grade five. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, arts, social studies, world languages, reading, writing, social studies, English, computer, and physical and special education. The school operates a parent-teacher organization that provides support and assistance to the school by organizing various fundraising events and activities. Garretson George Washington Elementary School also administers various athletic activities, including chess club, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, baseball, field trips and cheerleading. It has an annual enrollment of more than 350 students and has more than 20 staff members. The school is a part of the Jefferson Elementary School District, which is a school system that was established in 1918 and serves over 5,700 students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
