Took my 30hp Johnson in because water pump was not working. Was told that it was only clogged with sand, although I had only used the boat once since I just recently had the water pump replaced and it was nearly impossible for this to be the case - $153.00 bill.

Next time I used boat, water pump still doesn't work. Take it back and now it needs the water pump replaced after only using it for literally five minutes since I got it back. Asked the owner what the labor would be to complete the work and was told it would be between 1 - 1.5 hours. Show up to pick up my boat and ask the mechanic to explain to me how the water pump miraculously went bad in five minutes of use and he tells me that it should have been replaced when it was in the first time however for some reason the other mecahnic who worked on it didn't think so ????? Then to top it off, go to the counter to pay the bill and instead of the 1 - 1.5 hours of labor I was told, I'm being charged 2.25 hours of labor. At $94.00 an hour you can do the math. I could go on and on with more details however I think you get the picture. Bad business!



Update - Reported company to BBB and they received no response back. Water pump quit again after 2 uses. Tore the motor apart myself and discovered that the water pump had not been installed correctly and they used a cheap knock off part instead of OMC part. Repaced the pump myself and has worked fine ever since.
