10 month old baby - Severe Lip tie and severe tongue tie

Dr. Haller and her team went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. In fact, we traveled all the way from the USVI to see her! She is an amazing Doctor, and she clearly has a passion to be the BEST at these procedures. Her skill level is second to none, especially with babies. Once my 10 month old son was swaddled and prepped; he resisted for a bit, but then actually fell asleep during the entire procedure (and his case was severe)! So thankful for Dr. Haller & her staff!

Happy Mom, Happy Baby!

I was referred to Dr. Haller by my pediatrician who was concerned about my son's tongue-tie. I scheduled an initial consultation with Dr. Haller instead of an ENT (despite the hour drive) due to the less invasive nature (laser vs scapple). I am very glad I did so. My experience with Dr. Haller and staff was a great one and I am very pleased with the outcome.

Happy Mom!

I was referred to Dr. Haller by my pediatrician who was concerned about my son's tongue-tie. I chose to schedule a consultation with Dr. Haller over seeing a closer ENT (it was an hour drive for me) due to the less invasive nature of the laser treatment (versus a scapple). My experience with Dr. Haller and her staff was a great one and i couldn't be happier with the results of his treatment.

Tongue-Tie Evaluation and Procedure

We visited Dr. Haller on the recommendation of our doula and midwife. Our son had a tongue-tie and upper lip attachment which made nursing painful. After meeting Dr. Haller, she examined our child, showed us photographs of others with his condition (both before and after), and explained how it could be fixed along with how not doing the procedure would create other issues. The laser procedure was done during this same initial appointment and positive nursing changes were noticed shortly after.

Sleepy Baby Prior to Procedure

This was my third baby born with both a lip tie and posterior tongue tie diagnosed by the Lactation Consultant in the hospital after birth. My baby girl was very sleepy when we arrived home. It took me a good 45 minutes to even get her sucking more than 2 or 3 times at the breast. Each feeding session was stressful because she simply wouldn't stay awake.

Within 24 hours of the procedure, we experienced drastic improvement! She also exceeded her birth weight by 2 weeks of age.

Instant improvement feeding and breathing.

The instant the 10-minute procedure was through, our baby was able to finally breastfeed and breathe correctly. When we saw her after the procedure, she was already opening her mouth entirely, which she could never do before.

2 yr old with speech delay

I am so thankful for Dr. Haller who has given my son his voice. He went 2 years without being able to talk, and no one diagnosed him with the tongue tie until recently and he was able to say the words: "Hi, Dada, and Bye" in one week! It brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to hear him keep talking.

A World of Difference

Problems feeding? Extra fussy baby? Sore nipples? We had it all. Thankfully our baby's tongue tie was noticed by both our pediatrician and lactation consultant very early compared to some of the horror stories we've heard of children going years without a proper diagnosis and suffering greatly because of it.

We were referred to Dr. Haller by our LC, and with one visit (within five minutes!) we knew she was the one for us - our baby boy had both a tongue and upper lip tie, which was corrected quickly and easily in just a few minutes. We immediately noticed a difference in his feeding, and within days he was feeding properly, sucking instead of biting, making eye contact instead of falling asleep, no more clicking sounds, and best of all, he was SLEEPING BETTER! It was a world of difference.

If you suspect your child may have a tongue of some sort, do yourself, and your child, a favor and contact Dr. Haller for a consultation immediately.

Answered prayer after 9 months of searching

From the moment my son was born, I instantly knew he had a tongue and lip tie based off of my training as a speech-language pathologist. Two visits to a DDS and a plastic surgeon resulted in an anterior tongue tie clipping, and nothing else. Both stated his lip would not impact speech, or more importantly feeding. Fast forward to 7 months, and my son began to show a lip blister. Added on to the visible gap that was occurring between his two front teeth, I began to research for a 3rd opinion. That lead me to Dr. Haller, who instantly saw the lip tie and informed me that he was also suffering from a posterior tongue tie. Fifteen minutes later, my son was in her surgical room and 30 minutes later he was with me, nursing as he had not nursed before. Post-operatively, he has begun to babble more and has increased tongue movement. Dr. Haller is extremely educated, and takes the time for each patient to ensure that the child receives the best plan of treatment. Adding that to the phenomenal office staff who is warm upon reception and sweet to the babies, I would not recommend anyone else for a tongue or lip tie.

Tongue and Lip Tie

Excellent experience. Professional office, everybody pleasant and friendly.
Found Dr Haller on the internet and so happy I did. My baby was born with both lip and tongue tie. It went for almost 10 months misdiagnosed, lactation problems, speech problems, first teeth growing crocked, all better now after a relative simple and necessary procedure. I have follow up from day one with the stretch exercises and now my baby is normal and happy.

Frenectomy procedure changed our lives

I decided to visit Dr. Haller because I had found at that my 9 month old baby had a tongue tie. I did a lot of research online before making my decision to come visit her. I am so glad that i came and that I did not listen to the ENT who told me to wait until my son turned 2 years in order to have his tongue tie cut with anesthesia. I came for a consultation and to my surprise I found out that my son not only had a tongue tie but he also had a lip tie. I felt very comfortable allowing Dr. Haller to do the procedure on my son which is why I accepted to have it done the same day we came for the consultation. The procedure was fast and it did not require anesthesia which I was not okay with due to the risks. That same day on our way home my son woke up from a nap and instantly starting babbling and making sounds he had never made. Also, after the procedure my son is able to use regular sized nipples unlike before that he had to use the Y shaped nipples because he couldn't suck well. One of the best changes is that my son is sleeping better now. I didn't understand why a tongue tie would affect my son's sleeping but Dr. Haller explained that tongue ties affect the way he breathes which is why he kept waking up throughout the night.

Overall, I am very happy that I made the decision to do this procedure to my 9 month old son and I definitely recommend Dr. Haller and her practice. She is very professional and understanding.

Adult frenectomy for tongue tie

I have been tongue-tied for most of my life and was nervous to have laser surgery to correct the condition as an adult. It was a comforting experience talking with Dr. Haller about the procedure during consultation. I was confident she would correct my condition with her years of experience and reputation. I had the surgery the same day and was able to go back to work and talk with minimal discomfort. I feel completely healed after a week and a half, and I'm very happy with the result.

double frenectomy saved my baby

to preface my review i must include that i am a practicing general dentist. after the first four weeks of my son's life feeling absolutely helpless due to his continued suffering of colic and acid reflux for which even prescription medication did not help i decided to research online for a competent dentist that is experienced with tongue tie. this is when i found dr. haller. my son's pediatrician initially diagnosed my son's tongue tie after i had mentioned that i noticed his continued tongue thrusting, however he insisted that it was not urgent for him to have a frenectomy since he was still gaining weight. however as a mother i just knew that his discomforting drinking his milk was getting worse with him choking and wheezing breathing. dr. haller was able to diagnose a double tongue tie and a class 4 lip tie and my husband and i did the double frenectomy the same day. that same day i was able to breast feed which i had given up after 6 weeks and that same night i stopped giving him all over the counter and prescription medication for colic and acid reflux. within the week my son stopped wheezing and choking on his milk and slept longer without snoring and now sleepings 5 hour strectches. he is a completely different baby who is more alert and happy. dr. haller saved my baby.

Sweet hands to perform a frenectomy

My one week old baby was diagnosed with a tongue-tie. After carefully researching for the right doctor, I came across Dr. Haller. The descriptions on her website got me intrigued. Her passion for this particular procedure (frenectomy) got me feeling confident she was the doctor for us.

Once we came in, she took the time to explain, review, and give details on how the procedure is done. Even though it is hard knowing your baby will suffer, she made me feel super comfortable with her. It's super important to feel confident during this procedure.

I highly recommend Dr. Haller!

The best decision so far was going to her office! Now my baby is so much happier!! I can see her tongue coming out, her crying is better, she's so much happier!!

Thanks Dr. Haller!!!

Two year old with a severe tongue tie now eating independently!!

I recently moved from NY with my two year old son, who had a severe tongue tie. I was previously told by my sons pediatrician that sometimes tongue ties stretch, and not to worry about it. Unfortunately, the hospital where my son was born, did not think it was necessary to remove his tongue tie. I was told that at two years old, my son would have to have his tongue tie procedure done while under general anesthesia. At that point, I researched a laser specialist who specializes in tongue tie laser procedures, and found Dr. Haller. She has been amazing!! My son had the laser procedure done in her office. It was quick and All of Dr. Haller's staff is professional. caring and made us feel very comfortable.

My son has improved immensely with feeding himself, and his self esteem has also improved. He would not feed himself before the procedure, but now he is feeding himself independently and is much happier. I wish I would have done this laser procedure with Dr. Haller sooner!

I am So Happy that Dr. Haller has helped my son.

Lip and Tongue Tie Release

What an amazing experience! For 3 months my husband and I have watched our son struggle to eat, breath, and have reflux and gas We were told by the pediatrician and ENT specialist that both were attributed to a soft larynx (laryngomalacia). Our intuition however kept telling us that there was more we should be investigating to help our son. We finally ran across some information on lip and tongue ties - which lead us to Dr. Haller. What an amazing woman. Not only did she listen to our concerns, she spent the time to really investigate what was causing my son so many issues. She performed his frenectomy the same day and we immediately noticed a difference. He latched on for the first time in his life, finished 3 oz without pushing the bottle away or choking, and has been gaining weight at a faster speed. We will still need to work through his larynx issues, but he is absolutely a happier, more comfortable baby as a result of Dr. Haller's help.

Frenectomy (tongue-tie): Well Worth It!

Dr. Haller made all the difference in the final speech issue that our son had. I had never heard of a tongue-tie and she met with us for a consultation and spent over an hour with us explaining what a tongue-tie is and how it can effect a child's speech and communication skills. After learning about what a frenectomy is we decided to go ahead and have it done. We are amazed at the immediate results. Just after 1 day after the procedure we noticed a huge improvement in his pronunciation and he has less frustration when speaking because we can now understand every word. He no longer shoves huge amounts of food in his mouth and he has now become a happy chatter box with lots of questions and thirst for speaking. Dr. Haller is one of those very rare doctors who really believes in what she does and is amazing with children. I am so impressed that I, myself, will see her as my dentist and I am terrified of dentists due to very bad past experiences. I never felt that Dr. Haller was recommending a frenectomy just for the money. She genuinely cares about her patients, and that is very rare and hard to find in a doctor these days. I highly recommend Dr. Haller and her staff is just as amazing. You will not be disappointed!

A Dr. With a Wonderful Heart and Skill

I came in to have my newborn's tongue tie fixed. Dr. Haller was very friendly and it's clear she really cares about moms and the development of their children. Her facility uses a laser and works with lactation consultants, as well as works with adults. Who knew tongue tie created so many breastfeeding and sleeping problems! I'm thankful my little girl has had this procedure early. I look forward to how she progresses and is able to efficiently nurse in the weeks to come. And maybe I'll even get a little more sleep as well as she.

Tongue Tie Release on 7-month old baby boy

I brought my son in to Dr. Haller for a tongue and lip evaluation and release. My son's restrictions were significant and were affecting his ability to nurse, sleep, and breathe happily. Dr. Haller did a fabulous job with both the procedure and the post op care and education. We already feel a difference with the baby's nursing! Thank you Dr. Haller!

Changed Our Lives

Dr. Haller's expertise in pediatric dentistry and compassionate bedside manner were truly life changing for my family. My infant had a lip tie and tongue tie that our pediatrician did not diagnose and at 2 months old had fallen from 20th percentile for weight (at birth) down to 4th percentile, despite long breastfeeding sessions every 2 hours. We had no idea that the structure of his tongue and mouth were restricted from nursing productively, and supplementing his feedings and increasing their frequency had little effect other than to create more stress. After Dr. Haller's diagnosis and short laser surgery, my son is finally able to get the food he needs and is much happier (and sleeping longer). Dr. Haller is rare combination in medicine -- at the top of her field and leading research in this area, but also still willing to take as much time as patients need to explain her analysis and answer questions. My only regret is that I wish we had found her sooner!
