Overall

I would highly recommend a stay at Flint Hill Farm. It is truly a working farm first and foremost, but also serves as an excellent B&B. My family (2 adults, 1 pre-teen, 1 teenager) spent 2 nights and occupied 2 rooms. Rooms in the original farmhouse are smaller than modern accommodations, so be prepared for that; but they are clean, comfortable and homely. You don’t feel like spending much time in the rooms anyway, because there is so much to see and do on the farm – helping milk the cows and goats (what else could get my kids up and out by 6.30am?), feeding all the animals, collecting eggs, moving the chicken coops, turning the animals out of their stalls etc. The farm staff are friendly and helpful and once you have finished chores (if you chose to do them), you are free to roam about the farm and visit the animals you come to know by name. It’s a fun and educational experience and one that the whole family will remember much more than a vacation at the beach or pool.
