The Criminal Investigations Division offers a range of law enforcement services. It provides people and property investigation services. The division handles cases related to homicide, robbery, burglary, sexual assault and theft. The Criminal Investigations Division employs various detectives and also deals with various cases related to family violence, accidents and telephone harassment. It investigates cases, including forgery, credit and debit card abuse, identity theft, Internet fraud and embezzlement. The division maintains a juvenile section that is responsible for handling children-related cases. The Criminal Investigations Division operates a narcotics and vice unit that deals with illegal drug and narcotics trafficking, prescription forgeries, illegal gambling and prostitution cases. Additionally, it maintains a crime scene unit that responds to crime scenes and offers evidence collection and preservation services. Located in Conroe, Texas, the division is a part of the Conroe Police Department, which is operated by the City of Conroe.
