General Info

Established in 1861, El Paso County Sheriff's Office identifies, prevents and solves community problems through law enforcement, detentions and support services. Located in Colorado Springs, Colo., its law enforcement bureau comprises several divisions and units, including emergency services, investigations and patrol divisions. The bureau s emergency services division provides disaster preparedness, hazardous materials response, search and rescue, and wildland fire suppression and prevention services. Additionally, El Paso County Sheriff s Office operates the detention bureau that handles all services from intake to release of prisoners. The detention bureau also offers support services that include transportation, classification, court security, civil service, warrant services, medical, dental, laundry and food services. The support services bureau of the sheriff s office provides public safety support to the citizens of El Paso County in Colorado and the employees of the sheriff's office by ensuring that the required man power, and fiscal and material resources are available.
