Atlantic Valuation Group

I’m writing this review because I recently had to sue the appraiser Thomas Koncius of Atlantic Valuation Group 26 South Main Street, Cohasset, MA 02025. I wouldn’t use Atlantic Valuation Group, or their other real estate company, Atlantic Brokerage Group. Atlantic Valuation Group did not provide an accurate appraisal report. The report showed the house being 6 rooms with 3 bedrooms when it’s a 7-room 4-bedroom home. The heating system was also labeled incorrectly. The system was labeled as hot water baseboard when it’s actually steam radiators. The appraiser used three cape style homes for the comps when my home is a colonial style and the comps used only had a quarter of the land. The appraiser falsely claimed to Wells Fargo that he took my list of updates into account when he refused to take or look at the list I tried to provide him with. The appraiser falsely claimed to Wells Fargo that the missing room from the report was a small office on the first floor when it’s actually the second largest bedroom complete with a closet and two windows. He failed to add it as a bedroom. The appraiser showed a complete lack of professionalism when he never stepped foot in any of the bedrooms, completed the inspection in under ten minutes and chuckled at and asked questions about a picture of my wife’s deceased parents. When I gave Atlantic Valuation Group the opportunity to address my concerns personally they never returned my phone call or responded to my email. The court system agreed with me that the appraisal was not accurate and I was entitled to a refund. Mr. Thomas Koncius suggested that I would need to go after a third party company, Rels, for a refund. The court and I gave Mr. Thomas Koncius the opportunity to refund the appraisal cost (because it was his company that made the mistakes) but he was too proud and smug to come to an agreement. All these businesses run by old-timers need to get it through their thick skulls that consumer’s in today’s market grew up in the age of computers and the internet. The new consumers will fight back against bad service and prevent others from experiencing the same bad practices.
