MIG Wire & Tube was originally established in 1966 as Modern Pattern Engineers, a pattern and mold facility. Modern Industries was formed in 1987 as a sister company to Modern Pattern Engineers. Modern Pattern manufactures pattern molds for foundry and automotive applications. In 1989, MIG Wire & Tube was incorporated as a wire-forming venture. Since then, welded assemblies, springs and tubular products have been added to the company's manufacturing capabilities. In 2004, the company joined the automotive division of Leggett & Platt. The company consists of four departments that include computer numerically controlled capabilities, press, straight and cut, quality, four-slide, pave and welding. MIG Wire & Tube maintains its corporate headquarters in Chattanooga, Tenn.
