""Zhank you fah cawling Portofino Eastway!"" I have been calling this place to place orders for the past 15 years and i never get tired of hearing the Italian accent on the other end of the line. OH! and the food's good, too. My husband thinks this pizza is the best. Between here and Capriccio's, I'm not sure, both great. We love the antipasto, Hot Subs, Veal Marsala, and desserts. Consistently Good. This is another East Charlotte gem worth trying.
I have been going to Portofino's on Eastway for the past 12 years and still love it as much as the first time! The food is incredible, the service is wonderful and atmosphere is comfortable. It isn't fancy but it is really good food at a really affordable price. While this might not be the most appealing location, this is where the food is best. I highly recommend the pizzas and house dressing for the salads. I'm a vegetarian and the manicotti is my favorite! Give it a try and you won't regret it!!!

We have gone to this place a few times and by far it is like old school italian. The portions are generous and the prices are great. The atmosphere is perfect and you can even sit outside on a nice warm night. Overall this is the best italian food I have tatsed in Charlotte.

This place may not be as bad as the rating I gave it, but I'm going to tell you why! This place has been 50/50 for me and several other people I know. I was there last night and the pizza was burnt! They wouldn't take it back beacuse ""I bit into the pizza and noticed it was burnt"" The server said I shouldn't have tasted the pizza and they would have taken it back. That makes a TON of sense. They do have several locations and I would not recommend this location. Gastonia is pretty cool and Park Rd isn't so bad. You can eat here but beaware you have a 50% chance of the food being burnt!!! I eat out a lot and I will NEVER go back to Eastway Dr!

Portofino's Authentic Italian rest. was recommended 2 my hubby & I by my sweet hair stylist. She recommended a cheesesteak & told us the cheesesteak would be AUSPICICOUS just like the one's
in philly from a famous Italian cheesesteak stand called PAT'S. She said the food is 2 DIE 4!!!!
My hubby & I were beyond PLEASED! The food is INCOMPARABLE AUTHENTIC ITALIAN FOOD!

Definitely an 'upscale' version of the Eastway location. Same good food. Very full on weekend dinners -- make reservation or plan for a late supper. Been eating there regularly since they've opened and never been disappointed. Can alter menu items to suit. Get a special and split it, you'll have plenty.

Most ""Italian"" restaurants in Charlotte are so-called ""gourmet"" Italian food. You may get a couple of spaghetti noodles and some funky sauce for $20 a plate at some of these places. Others serve chili as their sauce on the pasta and claim ""it's the same thing."" Natives here should stick to BBQ and grits. None of that here. Just good Italian food cheap with great service. Eggplant, mostacolli, baked ziti, etc. Authentic cheese cake as well. It is very similar to literally dozens of family-owned restaurants near where I used to live in Buffalo. Northern transplants MUST eat here. Pizza is the best in town as well. Nice and greasy, the way pizza should be.
They also have a location on Park Rd between Woodlawn and Tyvola.

I have been to the other ""so called"" Italian restaurants in town. Portofino's, however, is my favorite. The sauces are flavorful and the staff is so friendly. You will not pay for the fancy location like you do in many other dining establishment here in Charlotte...but you get a great meal!
