Our appellate attorneys have argued in both federal and state appeals courts for our clients. Our lawyers have also written appellate briefs for both the United States and Illinois Supreme Courts.

Tristan’s practice has focused on litigation. He has successfully conducted several jury trials and countless bench trials. Additionally, he has practiced in the areas of landlord-tenant, divorce, custody/visitation, orders of protection, criminal law, driving under the influence (DUI), social security, and debt collection. He currently focuses his practice in the areas of criminal law and family law, including divorce/dissolution of marriage, custody/visitation (including the allocation of parental responsibilities), orders of protection, child support, maintenance and division of retirement benefits. Tristan is a court approved guardian ad litem for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit. Tristan has also worked as an Assistant Public Defender for McLean County, Illinois where he handled misdemeanor cases and served on the mental health specialty court. He graduated with distinction and a Bachelor of Arts in finance in 1993; three years later, he earned his Juris Doctorate. Harold went on to become a CPA in 1999. Prior to joining Meyer Capel, he was associated with a Bloomington-Normal law firm where he concentrated primarily on real estate, probate, and estate planning and small business law.
