S D T Waste & Debris

SDT is pure garbage...no pun intended. Their garbage men slam the cans down so hard that they break all the time. They've done it to my mother's can 4 times. How hard is it to place the can down and move on...it's as if they don't even care. Also, if my can is full and I place a bag on the side of the can for pick up, they refuse to pick it up! They are already picking up the can, why can't they pick up the single bag that I couldn't put in the can???? And to make matters worse, while emptying the can, should any garbage fall out onto the street, the workers just leave it there, they don't pick it up. That results in trash from others' homes making its way into my garden. I'm so sick of this company. They are worthless. I wish St. Bernard would choose another company that can do their job with respect.

What a sellout....we all knew when this pretty boy came into the garbage scene he wouldn't be there long, too pretty and pampered for this business I guess. The guy and the company are liars, thieves and cheats. Never have heard and honest thing about this man or company and what does he do, sells out to a national company. Take the money and run you crook....we all knew you would. Good riddance, the city is better off without you!

SDT is very good in keeping the streets clean. HOWEVER their workers are treated VERY unfairly, I know FIRST hand because my husband works for them, first and formost they work very very hard, some people don't realize how hard these people work, and not only do they work ALL day they get very little sleep, my husband only got between 3 to 4 hours of sleep for days in a row between shifts. On a good day he may get 7 hours of sleep. To top that off, they do not get payed over time when they have to work 12 plus hours, which most of them work a good 16 hours a day, and to top that off their paychecks are always wrong, and the person who works upstairs cutting the checks never seems to know anything. My husband had to get written out another check which they promised him because the 1st check was wrong and they waited 2 weeks to get the check to him...which went on his next pay check...therefore getting taxed TWICE on his money. The best part is these men clock in and their checks are still wrong I witnessed a fist fight outside of the building because someone elses check was wrong.....Maybe because they're a BIG name in the parish people think its a good place to work for...it's actually the wrost place to work for...if you want to work hard and get under paid with mis-calculated checks then go work for SDT waste Debris in Chalmette!!! Too bad I had to select a star...otherwise I wouldn't have

After reading the previous review I wasnt sure about giving SDT a chance, but due to the lower rate I did and couldnt be happier. I hosted an event that needed several port o lets and reserved the through SDT. They were delivered, serviced, and removed in a timely manner. The staff that I dealt with was great and I will definitely continue to use the services of SDT.

The Arts Market of New Orleans had arranged for portable toilets, one handicapped and two regular, for our monthly event to be delivered the Friday before. Well eventually at 8:00 Friday evening the handicapped toilet was not there and I was placed in the hands of the driver- we made arrangements for him to deliver it at 5:30 the Saturday of the event with a 5 am confirmations call. When I called the driver in the morning- he cursed me out then didn't arrive until 10:30 during the event.



After profusely apologizing and firing the driver- SDT promised to get it right the next month and we placed an order for the October 25th event. When Friday October 24th arrived and I called in the afternoon when the toilets were not delivered- I was told that it was Voodoo Fest and they didn't have any portable toilets left. River Parish Disposal came to the rescue and provided the toilets for free.



This is a big disappointment because I am a big fan of all the work SDT has done in the French Quarter and the toilets were the most beautiful I have ever seen. Their staff is rude and extremely disorganized.
