In order to provide safe and effective care, patients must be seen on a regular basis. Patients who have not been seen in six months are contacted and asked if they desire to reschedule. If this yields no response, a certified letter is mailed offering the patient 30 days to contact the office and schedule a follow-up, or the patient will no longer eligible for care (Care can be resumed at a future date if desired, but no additional medications are prescribed until the patient comes for a re-assessment). Also, all patients sign an informed consent acknowledging that refill requests may not be honored if they are submitted with less than 7 days notice.
