The Southwest Utah Youth Center is a locked detention facility operated by Juvenile Justice Services, which is governed by the Utah Department of Human Services. The facility provides short-term locked confinement for delinquent youths who are serving sentences and awaiting adjudication and placement. The Southwest Utah Youth Center houses youths who have been charged for offences, such as automobile theft, home burglary, assault, armed robbery, and the sale and use of drugs. Juvenile Justice Services coordinates various intervention, supervision and rehabilitative programs for youth offenders.
